Cakarevic grew up with Zitko Basket and joined Asvel Basket in summer 2007. He has also played for Swisslion Pelister Bitola in FYROM and Swisslion Takovo Lions Vrsac in Serbia. Last two seasons he played for Radnički Kragujevac. Cakarevic has helped Serbia to win respective gold medals at the 2007 World under-19 Championships and the European under-20 Championships. He has also lifted the French Cup trophy with Asvel in 2008. This year he signed three-year contract with Partizan mt:s.
