Basketball Club Partizan players are ready for the Euroleague Top 16 Week 6 clash against Barcelona.
BC Partizan Head Coach Duško Vujošević said that Barcelona were firm favourites against his side ahead of the final round in the group E.
"In some way that's the clash of David and Goliath. They are big favourites and they are much bigger construction than us. Taking everything into account, it would be very surprising to me if Barcelona does not win the Euroleague this season", said Vujošević.
The Catalan side ensured Top 8 spot as the first team in the group E, while the second position is still open for Partizan or Maroussi. If Partizan beat the Catalan side the Top 8 is ensured, and in case of a loss, The Black and Whites will have to count on Panathinaikos's win in the match against Maroussi.
"We know what is ahead of us there and we strive for our destiny. A poet said: "If you have to die, do it honourably". As to the other match in group, I hope Panathinaikos will play an honourable, just game, like they did in Belgrade, as I would behave in the same manner if I were in their shoes" , said Vujošević.
The first group E clash between Partizan and Barcelona, in overcrowded 'Pionir', finished with an edge win for The Black and Whites after over time 67:66 and the score was made official after several minutes of rewinding the tape of the final shot by the referees. The Euroleague confirmed the victory after dismissing Barcelona's appeal on the decision.
Center of Partizan Aleks Marić is aware that the very situation will be additional motif for the Spanish side.
"They will certainly be highly motivated because of the match in Belgrade, but we will be, too. Before all, we have to look into our yard first and not get distracted by what Panathinaikos will do against Maroussi" , explained Marić.

The Final Match of the Euroleague TOP 16, Group E: Barcelona – Partizan is scheduled for Thursday, March 11 at 20.45 in 'Blaugrana' in Catalonia, while Panathinaikos and Maroussi match is scheduled for 18 CET in Athens. |
