The Managing Board of BC Partizan unanimously decided to promote previous First Assistant Coach Vlada Jovanović to Head Coach of the champions. Duško Vujošević's first assistant for many years is set to take the first team and lead the Humska 1 club in years to come.
Vlada Jovanović finished elementary and secondary school education in Čačak. He graduated at Higher Coaching School in Belgrade in 1999. He is also a graduate of Faculty Of Sports And Physical Education, section Basketball. He played basketball for all selections of Borac Čačak and Železničar Čačak. He started his coaching career in 1997. He was coaching youth selections of Borac, Zemun and Partizan. He has been with BC Partizan First team since 2006 and won 5 National Champions titles, 4 NLB titles and 3 Radivoj Korać Cups.
Since last summer, he is head coach of Junior National Team of Serbia and has won the gold medal at the European Championship in France. He will coach the same selection at the EC in Lithuania this summer.
"When I was just a candidate for Head Coaching role in BC Partizan I was utterly honoured, and now when it is officially decided that I am the one to lead the club in the next season, I can only say that I am sincerely thankful for the offered trust. Above all, my gratefulness is addressed to President Danilović and Sports Director Todorić, of course, Duško Vujošević's recommendations were immensely important for me. I am very grateful to them for having belief in me and allowing me a chance to prove myself through this very delicate and demanding task. They gave me a chance to become Head Coach of one of the greatest European Clubs, not just one that is great here in the Balkans but the club that has proven the quality in the frame of the best European clubs. For me this is a great honour. I will do my best in the forthcoming period of time to, by my hard work, relation to work and relation to players and the club, prove that the trust given to me is justified“, said the New Head Coach of BC Partizan Vlada Jovanović. |
